“The more we see ourselves as vibrant, successful, inspiring person who boldly declares and manifests her vision, the more we become just that.” – Kristi Bowman
Ladies lets get real today. I know most of you would agree being bold or direct gets a bad wrap. You can be considered arrogant, conceited, or even a bitch. But wouldn’t you agree that if we don’t ask for what we want it is highly likely we wont get it? Entrepreneurship is going after it. If you want something to happen for your business you have to go out and get it yourself. My favorite saying is “if it is to be, it is up to me.” Nothing can be more on point.
Being bold is going for it even at the risk of hearing no, rather than sitting around on the sidelines waiting for something to happen. You can be bold without being loud, or arrogant, but you have to be assertive and direct. When you are bold people will take notice of you confidence and perceive you as a leader, someone who makes things happen, a doer, a mover and a shaker. Is it always comfortable to ask for exactly what you want and to speak up? Not at all, but success always lies on the other side of our comfort zone! Knowing how to be direct and be heard is key. It’s not about attention, you don’t have to always be heard, nobody needs to hear your opinion all the time. Make yourself heard when you need to, that’s when it counts. You should never be a bully about it, there is no need. Bold is all about not hesitating and just doing. It is about not being afraid to do the unexpected and trying new things, thinking out of the box.
- 10 Characteristics of being Bold:
- Stop hesitating and start doing
- Try new things willingly
- Understand your strengths & weaknesses
- Imagine yourself as bold even if you are playing a character
- Just ask for what you want
- Do what you say you are going to do regardless of the outcome
- Take risks
- Always ask questions
- Never worry about rejection
- Make yourself stand out
Be bold enough to live on your own terms, and never apologize for it. Whenever you feel like hesitating or procrastinating rather than doing and asking, swallow your fear, your pride, whatever it is that is holding you back and make the first move. Practice having a bold confident mindset. Create opportunities for yourself, do not wait for them to come to you. Learn to get out there and go after what you want because you deserve success!
